Simply Abode was founded by Marie in 2016, leaving behind her 12 year career in visual merchandising. Marie embraced the entrepreneurial spirit and ventured into the realm of interior design. Fuelled by her passion for creating beautiful and functional spaces, Simply Abode quickly gained recognition relying solely on word of mouth to spread its reputation. Marie Whittaker – Owner & Principal Stylist

Marie began her road to professional success during a 12 year career in the fashion industry, where she helped plan, style and merchandise retail interiors. After buying and renovating her first home back in 2014, Marie knew she needed to branch out on her own to explore her interior styling skills. Marie is a passionate and dedicated individual whose love for creating inviting and charming spaces is evident in every room she styles. With a keen eye for detail and a flair for blending modern design with cozy elements, Marie has cultivated a collection of stunning inventory that offers both comfort and style. Her commitment to providing exceptional client experiences is reflected in her thoughtful communication and strong work ethic.

Marie is a huge animal lover, city dweller and patio connoisseur. In her free time you can find her spending time with her Australian Shepherd dog named Sydney or designing beautiful spaces in her own home.

Lauren Sweeney - Lead Interior Stylist & Decorator

Lauren has a keen eye for detail and an innate sense of style, she has become a prominent figure in the Simply Abode team. As a seasoned interior stylist, Lauren has mastered the art of blending functionality with aesthetics, turning ordinary spaces into extraordinary bespoke designs.

Lauren has earned a reputation for her professionalism and reliability, consistently delivering exceptional staging designs. She’s an expert at finding a balance between modern, classic and vintage aesthetics.
Lauren is an entrepreneur at heart, she runs her own interior decorating business and sells her very own handmade pillow covers. Totally worthy of a full page spread in House & Home magazine!

She is a huge fan of live music, animal lover at heart and can’t end her day without a long run. We are so thrilled to have Lauren on our team!

Olivia Carvalho - Interior Stylist & Decorator

Olivia is a recent graduate from Humber College, where she excelled in studying Interior Decorating. Her passion for design and creativity is evident in every project she undertakes. With a keen eye for detail and a strong grasp of elevated design aesthetics, Olivia has honed her skills to perfection while working on the Simply Abode team. She is an eager, self-starter who thrives on tackling any design challenge that comes her way. Olivia's determination, coupled with her fresh perspective, allows her to approach each project with enthusiasm and innovation, making her a valuable asset to our team.

She is a proud dog mom of three (yes three), is a wanderlust at heart and loves a good bike trail. Olivia is a great addition to our team!
